Staring new plants from cuttings is truly amazing! Lop off a branch, stick it into some potting soil, and soon you have an entire plant! And truthfully, it is almost that easy once you know some of the tricks for success.
This workshop starts with a demonstration by gardening expert Nan Sterman, but very soon, you will have mud on your hands! Ant that's a good thing!
Once you understand the process, you can propagate almost anything, from the flowering shrubs you covet in your neighbor's garden to that new perennial you saw in the nursery (though not if it is a patented variety). Roses and succulents are easy to propagate. Even some fruiting trees and vines are good beginning subjects.
This hand-on workshop covers most of the basics for making and potting cuttings, how to care for them, how to transplant them once they are ready to go, and the basic supplies you need for propagation.
You'll go home with a bunch of cuttings to grow up and use in your own garden!
